About The Advisory Council
The current Indian Boundary Park Advisory Council was formed in 2004 in response to neighborhood concerns about the park usage and per request of the park supervisor.
Everyone is welcome to the Advisory Council meetings held in the fieldhouse at 7:00 P.M on the second Tuesday of every month.
Advisory Council news is posted in 2 locations - on a bulletin board in the field house and outdoors on the kiosk board by the stone posts east of the field house.
The members of the 2011-2012 Advisory Council Board are:
- President - Michael Oster
- 1st Vice-president - Jennifer Albom
- Treasurer - Brian Barriager
- Secretary - Valeri Vanourek
- Elected Members -
Committees may include zoo, playground, docents, landscape, programs, publicity and executive.
In November of 2008, the Advisory Council was awarded an "Advocacy Award" from the Friend of the Parks organization for their outstanding work on behalf of Indian Boundary Park and the Cultural Center.

Accomplishments in 2008
- New fencing installed around lagoon nature area and Triangle Garden
- Larger variety of wildflowers planted in nature area
- New garden, Keepers of the Fire, replanted with "rivers" of bulbs and flowers
- Slate walk in front of field house repaired
- Lighting repaired and being maintained
- Old trees (80+ years) identified; pruning assistance provided by TreeKeepers to help maintain our "urban forest"
- Bilingual Docent Guides Program held from June to September every Friday through Sunday to help park visitors learn park history, horticulture and rules related to feeding of wild animals who share our space
- October Rummage sale held for fund-raising
